Wooden brace joint hardware "Blaster Z 600"

Brace Z600, a wooden brace joint hardware that resiliently withstands repeated major earthquakes.

In wooden houses, multiple large tremors can cause the braces that support the building to come loose or become damaged. In such cases, the seismic performance of the building can rapidly decline, posing a risk of collapse. The "Blaster Z600" enhances the building's resilience by using special slits that deform to reduce damage to the braces. ■Features (1) Three-point fastening (column, foundation (beam), brace) ensures reliable load-bearing performance. (2) Wall amplification ratios of 1.5x, 2.0x, and 3.0x certified (House Plus Inspection Co., Ltd.) (3) Dynamic testing (shake table experiments) confirms the toughness effect. *For more details, please refer to the catalog.

Wooden brace joint hardware "Blaster Z600 black ver."

Enduring repeated major earthquakes with resilience! The wooden brace connection hardware "Blaster Z600" has a new black version with improved rust prevention effects.

During a major earthquake, if wooden houses deform significantly, the screws holding the connectors may come loose, or the wood may get damaged. In such cases, even if the structure withstands the first major shake, it cannot endure the repeated tremors. The "Blaster Z600 black ver." features a special slit that deforms, which helps prevent screw pull-out and wood damage, allowing it to resiliently withstand repeated shaking. Additionally, a new version with enhanced rust resistance, the "Blaster Z600 black (Black Version)," has been added to the lineup. *For more details, please refer to the catalog.*

Double brace connector hardware

Equivalent certified product to Z-mark hardware (BP-2)! No need to notch the columns and horizontal members, allowing for the connection of brace ends.

The "double brace connector" is used when joining the ends of braces (wall strength factor of 2) that are 45mm x 90mm or larger. The screw-in parts for the base and columns are embossed, allowing for a good fit of the braces. Additionally, in the case of a true wall, the "folded part" is cut out by 60mm, so the connector is not exposed. 【Features】 ■ Embossed processing (screw-in parts for the base and columns) ■ No need to notch the columns or horizontal members, allowing for the joining of brace ends ■ Can be installed in any direction (up, down, left, right) ■ In the case of a true wall, the "folded part" is cut out by 60mm, preventing exposure of the connector ■ Certified equivalent to Z-mark hardware (BP-2) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

"Column Fit" brace connection hardware

A brace joint hardware that allows for the connection of brace ends without the need to notch the horizontal member.

The "Column Fit" is used when connecting a 45mm x 90mm brace (with a wall strength ratio of 2) to a column. Since the standard dimensions of the hardware are symmetrical, it can be installed in any orientation—up, down, left, or right. Additionally, because screws for fastening to the horizontal members are not required, it can be installed even with floor panels in place. 【Features】 ■ No need to notch the horizontal members ■ No screws required for fastening to the horizontal members ■ Can be installed even with floor panels in place ■ Can be installed in any orientation—up, down, left, or right ■ Equivalent certified product to Z-mark hardware (BP-2) *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

[KES Construction Method Example] Commercial Facility 'ITOYA Aramachi Lounge'

Introducing a construction case of a "cafe" using the KES method of joint hardware in wooden architecture.

We would like to introduce a case study of the "KES Construction Method," which utilizes unique joining hardware in wooden architecture. The original concept was a café consisting of several small buildings that relate to each other while maintaining their spacing. Considering the operations and the winter climate of Niigata, the final design resulted in a partially integrated shape of the buildings, but the concept has not strayed from the original idea. How a single building, by standing in its location, envelops the surrounding environment and continues to be cherished while being utilized... This architecture approaches true completion alongside the growth of the trees that surround the café. 【Case Study】 <ITOYA Aramachi Lounge> ■Location: Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture ■Site Area: 988.00 m² ■Total Floor Area: 143.09 m² ■Building Area: 144.99 m² ■Number of Floors: 2 above ground ■Winner of the Wood Design Award 2017 *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Botanical Life Square

Awards: "10th Fukuoka Prefecture Wooden and Wood-Structured Architecture Award - Excellence Award" and others.

The design blends into the surrounding landscape and creates an open and spacious roof space. The roof is finished entirely in wood, and by using wooden materials for the interior as well, the warmth of nature is spread throughout the entire space. To construct the large space while utilizing the properties of the materials, a reciprocal structure is adopted. This is a structural method where multiple beams support each other to ensure stability. Furthermore, at the joints, GIR (Glue-In-Rod: Home Connector) joints are used, achieving both aesthetic appeal and structural performance without exposing hardware. 【Project Overview】 ■ Structure: Wooden + Steel Frame ■ Number of Floors: Single Story ■ Total Floor Area: 293.71m² ■ Location: Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture ■ Design: Atelier Sankaku Scale *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.
